Hey y’all! Cara Kough here from Cara’s Shops Blog! Most of y’all know me from working at our Lebanon store location, my blog, or maybe y’all know me from pictures on the site! Anyway, I am so beyond excited to get on here and give y’all a little look into my school basics, style, and favorite things! My number one favorite being Poppie’s, of course!
I started working at Poppie’s when I was fifteen, lucky enough for Sarah to pull me in and hire me! Now eighteen, I’ve realized how much I’ve grown up so alongside the company! But one thing that has never changed during my time at the store is, you guessed it, school! That’s why I wanted to give y’all my favorite basics and comfies for this next school season!
The perfect basic tee. Throughout my years at Poppie’s, this best seller will get you through the late night study sessions the night before the exam, the breakups, and the new besties. The softest, comfiest material you’ll ever get in a shirt! Dress code approved, you can dress it up or down! It also comes in the cutest colors of the season!
Layering tanks, bramis, and the one-shoulder trend. These three are your summer go-to for a fall transition! Layer these under a jacket or cardigan, and you’re good to go! Bramis are perfect for hot days on campus walking to and from college classes! Layer to your heart’s desire, y’all!
Comf shorts!! Everyone’s favorite at my high school had to be the active shorts! We have three gorgeous colors for only $19.99 girls. Run. Don’t walk. Need I say more?
Essential oversized boxy tee. Every girl’s dream. School appropriate, comfy, dress up with jeans, dress down with joggers of biker shorts. Love, love, love. We have tie-dye and solid colors. The oversized trend has to be my favorite right now, y’all!

Hi y’all, I’m Cara! If y’all didn’t know I started working at Poppie’s since I was fifteen! (A sophomore in high school; oh my gosh!) It feels like so long ago. Now at age eighteen, I feel like I’ve grown up with Poppie’s over my three years of working here. I’ve moved up in the company by fulfilling a few online orders y’all make on our website, to doing pictures full-time, to now doing the majority of all the orders in our web room. I can’t believe how fast time flies. *tear* Anyway, one thing that has always remained constant throughout my years at Poppie’s is, well, school!
That’s why I am here to give y’all the best basics a girl could ever dream of in high school or college! And believe me y’all, from sophomore year in high school to my freshman year of college - Poppie’s has been with me! And that’s not just in the clothes, but in the message our team strives to represent daily in our jobs and our personal lives - being positive!
